Back home!

Spent the night in hall cos' there was band prac yesterday..after such a long break for exams! Cabbed down to nyh cos' I left my house late and was supposed to meet sw at 6pm to discuss stuffs..I ended up reaching super early but he was late! Feel like I wasted my money. Haha. And I cabbed back again from hall just now! Slap me somebody. The way I go about throwing my money and wasting them on totally unnecessary stuffs is just so...unforgivable. But I still do it all the same. *piakpiak! Lol.

Tried many new pieces at prac ytd which adeline and shulin got..poor adeline had to sub as librarian cos' shulin's in msia! Haha. We played loch lomond..when I first saw the piece, it really looked like a typical warmup chorale. But that's where looks can be deceiving. My conductor once said that the easier a piece appears to be, the harder it is to play it well. And he was right! Although the notes were machiam idiot-proof (really not difficult!), the band sounded..less than satisfactory. And I'm already putting this in a nicer way. No balance, no intonation, not in tune..everything just seemed wrong. Like, even if we were note-perfect, there wasn't any emotion in the playing. How to sound good? Sighh.

Tried a few more pieces after that, dun really know wads gonna be confirmed. I just noe there's gonna be a long piece that mr oura's choosing. I think. At any rate, while some pieces may not seem too nice when we played it, I think the key hinges on the band's playing, and not really the piece itself. If we can play well together as a band, even the most horrible piece will sound alright even if it's not nice. Am I making any sense. Haha.

Had photo-taking for the comm after prac..it was quite hilarious haha. What a pity shulin wasn't around..if not it'll be a complete comm photo for the booklet! Went out for supper with the usual pple after everything ended. I think we're really slow pokes! Band ended at around 10pm but we only left about an hour later. By the time we got back to hall, it was already 1plus in the morning. Gosh. Haha.

Supper was entertaining as usual. When we reached the usual 179 supper place, the other supper gang was preparing to go geylang to eat! Man..I miss geylang food! I wanna go someday soon man. Haha. I think we should merge supper gangs and everyone eat together. If not how to mingle and mix around! Most of them I know by sight and name, but other than that, like never talk leh. I want everyone to socialise around abit more la. After all, we're all from the same band and we share a common past time: suppering! =p Shall ask them to wait for us in future so we can all eat together. And of cos', we'll try to speed up and get out of the bandroom faster. Lol.

I like eating supper with the comm pple. Or anyone, for that matter. It's just that everytime we go out to eat, it's usually just the comm. Very fun and hilarious! It should be this way with everyone lor. And it's a damn good way to bond! That's how our current comm bonded so well I think. =)

Anw, after supper, zhibin sent us back to our respective halls..thx zb! It's always either him or adeline being the chauffeur. Haha. Livia went back to grab some stuff before coming over to my room to sleepover. Actually, we didn't sleep much. The main reason why she came over was cos' we wanted to chat about stuffs. We always chat about stuffs. Usualy to do with band. I like talking to my twinny. =)

We really talked alot..shared alot of our feelings about certain stuffs and opinions about everything else..it wasn't the first time we were doing it, but ytd was when we realised that sth concrete has to be done. The band can't continue like this. Half the band's like strangers to one another la. Anw..what I feel is that it boils down to discipline. If the band is disciplined enough on its own, everything else will be simpler. How do you go about bonding the band if half of them dun turn up for prac? And we only know about the dismal attendance on the day of prac itself. That's like how sad la. Yesterday's attendance was liddat.

So, me and liv have decided to raise some issues at the next comm meeting. Which will be really soon! Stress again. Haha. But hopefully we can get sth concrete going by the time bandcamp comes around. Even if it's just a little change for the better, that's better than nth. Better than the way things are now. I wonder if it can get any worse actually. *choy

Hope we wun get shot down at the meeting..some issues we're gonna raise and the solutions we've thought of may seem sort of juvenile and very much like sec/jc band style, but I believe it's all for the better in the long run. Pple seem to have a tendency to forget very easily. Basic courtesy, for example. For the life of me, I just can't understand how the band can go by prac after prac without bothering to greet mr oura. And the worst is, he actually greets us! I mean, like, he says "thank you" after prac and all that..and the band just sits there like stone. Wah lau. Dun tell me they've never greeted their conductors in sec/jc..it's manners for goodness sake. And the simplest form of respect to accord someone, much less your conductor. Me and liv really cannot stand it. Even if someone has to constantly say "band stand! greet mr oura.", it's better than not greeting at all.

There will really be quite a few things we're gonna suggest..I really hope that the comm can consider it carefully and see where we're coming from. It's all thought of in the best interests of the band la. At least, to liv and me. And anneson is right. The comm and the SLs should have a meeting or sth. What the heck. The comm and the band should have a talk. There's like simply so much they dun seem to know. Whether they care or not is another thing. Of cos' I hope they do..

Okay, this has been a super duper longwinded entry. I'm really getting more and more chang2 qi4 these days. Oops. Haha. Going to leave for hk on sat, hvnt done any packing! Gonna miss 2 band pracs and the chalet..oh man. I really dun wanna miss them..hai. There's nth I can do now..I almost wish I didn't agree to go hk after all. And with mav not around..at least, that's what I think, I wonder how the section's gonna cope. Qh better be there for pracs sia. And I hope they realise that I've tidied up the files and put the scores accordingly. If not, I can just predict that they're gonna be score-less during prac. -_-

Anw..this has really been a long enough post. It's time for me to end off, or I think I'll just go on and on and on...enough said. Haha. All my dear frens..let's go out after I get back k. I wanna kbox with my ij clique! And go tanning with my darling 29ners! Haha. And alot more la. Wah, I talk like I got all the time in the world. Lol. Okay, tkkaire lots everyone! =)
